Europe, Middle East and Africa. $50+ million in wins. ► Closed $1 million U.S. Government grant for a Ministry of Health digitization pilot project in Indonesia.► Secured during the US-Africa Leaders’ Summit (45 heads of state) convened by the White House, participation for GE HealthCare in the “Deal Room” at the Business Forum. She then recommended that I explore career opportunities inside the company. Networking was key to finding my current role. The World Bank provided loans and grants of $58 billion to the developing world in 2020. As part of a major overhaul of its procurement policies and rules—coupled with my nearly 20 years’ experience at GE as a bidder on World Bank projects—the Chief Procurement Officer of the World Bank invited me to collaborate on a short-term consulting assignment. In this role, I successfully: ► Contributed content viewed through a private sector lens for a new business guide: “Finding Business Opportunities and Winning Contracts Financed by the World Bank.” ► Provided insight and reviewed content in a new guide designed for Ministries of Health and World Bank health staff, published as: “Buyers Guide for Medical Diagnostic Imaging (MDI) Equipment.” ► Helped establish a first MDI expert panel created to advise Ministry of Health and World Bank staff on technical issues for medical equipment procurement. The panel is still in place today.

Based on my previous expertise at GE Healthcare, I was asked to broaden my scope and represent the full GE Company for transaction and policy advocacy. In this role, I successfully:► Served as the GE company-wide relationship manager and liaison for the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, U.S. Agency for International Development’s Development Credit Authority, Inter-American Investment Corporation, Inter-American Development Bank. I developed a stellar reputation as “honest broker.”► Advised, liaised and advocated for strategic transactions in various stages, focusing on medical equipment and energy projects (wind, gas, grid), valued at over $10 billion in 30+ countries in Africa, Latin America, South Asia and Eastern Europe. ► Managed GE advocacy strategy for bidding disputes in World Bank-financed projects by diplomatically engaging World Bank staff to resolve issues with technical specifications, qualification requirements, and delayed payment by governments. I advised colleagues to ensure compliance with World Bank procurement rules.► Partnered with USAID and Kenyan bank KCB to create first-of-its-kind $10 million portfolio financing facility exclusively for GE Healthcare’s private sector customers in Kenya. It was exciting to shape this new advocacy role representing GE Healthcare globally from Washington, DC.My responsibilities focused on supporting GE Healthcare’s commercial teams in Africa, Middle East, Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America. I did this by identifying early stage opportunities and advocating for GE Healthcare to win new business.In this role, I successfully: ► Forged key relationships with the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, Inter-American Development Bank, US Government agencies -- including US Department of Commerce, US Trade & Development Agency, USAID – as well as trade associations and embassies. ► Directed GE Healthcare’s Multilateral Development Bank strategy for public sector sales opportunities.
