Specializing in communications, membership management, development, and operations, I have spent over twenty years in the nonprofit arena while mostly focusing on military-connected organizations. My job at the George C. Marshall Foundation was where I first fell in love with nonprofit work.I am a former Deputy Director of Development & Membership for the National Military Family Association (NMFA) and have also served in many volunteer roles such as on the Board of Directors for the Tidewater Military Family Services Council and as the Command Team Advisor for U.S. Marine Forces Command. During a career break to be home with my children, I was asked by NMFA to conduct a six-month research project to study what resources are available for families of transitioning servicemembers and the quality of those resources. I presented my findings during a roundtable of representatives from the Department of Defense, Department of Labor, and numerous national military organizations. Additionally, I am a former small business owner as the founder and head coach of Kid Kinetics Gymnastics Academy, which I sold to the YMCA after numerous years of growth and success.I currently provide operational support and consulting for nonprofit organizations on a contractual basis through my LLC. Services include streamlining processes, creating or maintaining a communications strategy, member and donor management, grant writing and support, and providing programmatic management. My client roster is currently full.I hold professional memberships in the American Society of Association Executives, the Public Relations Society of America, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. I am the proud spouse of a retired Marine and have a brother who is a retired Marine as well. In my spare time, I have worked to free and support Afghan refugees, volunteer with my children's Cub Scout Pack and Scout Troop, and enjoy gardening and horseback riding.
