I am a second-year Miami Dade College Presidential Scholar pursuing an AA degree. I have a passion for community relations, change-making, public service, and sustainable development, which have been inspired by my upbringing in a multicultural home in the diverse community of Miami-Dade. As the Head Delegate of the Model UN team at MDC, I am currently recruiting and developing the 2024-2025 College-wide Team for competition, civic duties, and community service across all campuses. This academic year, I will serve as Secretary-General to the Miami Dade Model United Nations County-wide Middle School Conference and as Director-General for the Miami Dade Model United Nations County-wide Middle School Conference, with over 5000 student and teacher participants. I am starting my fifth year as an Assistant to the Secretary-General of the Consular Corps of Miami (a volunteer/intern post), I have the privilege of assisting with the functions of this body, including speaking at Consular events and singing the Star-Spangled Banner for events hosted by national consulates, such as the visit of the Prime Minister of Ireland and the 100th Anniversary Celebration of the Republic of Turkey. With the encouragement and support of Miami Dade College and community organizations, I participate in various internationally focused events locally, nationally, and internationally. These include the MENA Climate Change Week in Riyadh and MUN competitions, such as the National Model United Nations Conference in New York. Additionally, at my college, I work as a Mathematics tutor, Teaching Assistant, and Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) leader for courses in Statistics and College Algebra. This fall, I will be representing Miami Dade College at the Harvard Kennedy School Public Policy Leadership Conference in Cambridge, MA. Locally, I am involved in providing student speeches and serving on panels for various Presidential Scholar and college-wide events. I am also passionate about road running both as a hobby and for self-care. I am currently training to return to half-marathons, starting with my hometown classic, the Miami Marathon and Half in February 2025. I plan to complete an Associate of Arts Degree in April 2025 and am currently starting the process of seeking academic and internship programs to continue my preparation and studies in pursuit of a career contributing to the promotion of sustainable growth policies.
