Mary Beth Sweeney is a Member of the MA, NH and Women's Bar Associations. She also served as a past member of the Steering Committee for the BBA's Family Law Section, and was a past delegate for the MA Chapter of the American Association for Justice. Ms. Sweeney has lectured for the American Association for Justice on topics including Stock Options in Family Law Cases at their conventions. She was the past president of the MA Probate and Family Court Inn and was elected as a Trustee of the American Inn of Courts. Ms. Sweeney has presented at Inns on topics such as evidentiary issues in family law cases and moderated a panel on the interplay of child support and the 2011 alimony statute. Ms. Sweeney has also served as a Guardian ad Litem, and Conciliator in family law cases. She is a trained mediator and Collaborative law attorney and works as a Parenting Coordinator. Ms. Sweeney has also been listed in the magazine “Massachusetts Super Lawyers”, was honored as one of the Top Women of Law by Lawyers Weekly in 2018, is a regular recipient of Top Women Attorneys In Massachusetts by Boston Magazine, and is a 2019 Lawyers of Distinction Recipient.Ms. Sweeney has published on the topic of Stock Options for the American Association for Justice in their 2001 Montreal Convention Manual (“The ABC’s of Stock Options”). She has appeared on the Emily Rooney show on the issue of Virtual Parenting and its impact in divorce removal matters. She is also responsible for updating the Motion Practice Section of the MCLE Family Law Manual and a Chapter for MCLE for Evidentiary Privileges and Fiduciary litigation. She has also published in the NH Bar Journal on the Hague Convention. Further, she edits the MCLE manual chapter on Motion Practice in the Probate and Family Court.Ms. Sweeney also has served as the Past President of the North Shore Women in Business, and served as a long time board member and is currently the Director of the Boston Chapter of the NADP.
