As a senior technician at WiCell Reasearch Institute, I was dedicated to helping reach the company's mission of providing top-notch human embryonic stem cell lines for research purposes to scientists around the world as well as providing a high standard of excellence of products and services to University of Wisconsin collaborators and clients. I eagerly accepted new and challenging projects over my career to help our distribution/production team progress towards company goals: National Stem Cell Bank Master Cell Bank creation and cell characterization assays, projects such as PACT and ISCI, Fee for service quality control testing of stem cell products, and consulting/support services with the Waisman Center Biomanufacturing facility.

Department Of Human Oncology / Ajit K. Verma Laboratory

I enlisted a variety of managerial, molecular biology, and cell culture skills integral to the laboratory's focus on skin carcinogenesis and the role of ultraviolet radiation. I assisted with routine laboratory functions, transgenic mouse colony care, handling, and tissue harvests, and with graduate student projects studying protein kinase c and the regulation in skin cancer.

Department Of Pharmacology / Timothy Mulcahy Laboratory

My career in laboratory research started as an entry-level human oncology research technician with Dr. Timothy Mulcahy. I advanced my mastery of skills in order to support the studies of glutathione and the regulation in the resistance to chemotherapeutic agents. During this period, the laboratory transitioned from the human oncology department to pharmacology. I was also given the opportunity to work for Dr. Howard H. Bailey and gain clinical experience in his studies with ovarian cancer.
