Life is too short , and that is why I am learning from past experiences to pursue my dream career as a Medical Coder. The dream all started when I started learning Medical Terminology, physiology, and human anatomy , in my MBC Program at Carrigton College. The human body and medical science extremely facinates me. I started the program in order to have a career in an industry where there is a lot of demand, variety of roles, and on the higher side of compensation. I never planned to fall in love with what I was learning, but the truth is I did and it helped me pass all my lessons and exams , landing me on the Presidents list for academics and graduating at the top of my class in 2014. From there on the dream became real. I was hired at the company I interned for school, as well as passed my CPC exam , making me officially certified. I learned roughly it could all change in the blink of an eye. I was faced with being laid off, no success at another role in coding with minimal experience, and financial hardship which led to the loss of my credentials. I pretty much gave up, with the remembrance of what I could have been or had and was capable of achieving. I felt like the world didn't care that I worked my tail off in school, and took out 3 student loans to fund it, and became certified just to lose it right away over money. The truth is the world doesn't care but they do also in a way. I learned that I was the one who needed to care enough to do whatever it takes to keep it , I could of sought out help, there are so many resources to help in these situations. So now I am taking a refresher course to sit for the exam November or October. I want to live a comfortable life with the ability to experience liberating activities or hobbies, and at the same time challenging myself by contributing my passions knowledge and experience that are fundamental to the success and the overall continuity of the industries cycle. My career will be cultivated with a company willing to take a chance with me as well as my early training and on going learning and growing. One that will value my positive, kind, and easy going personality in which is my strongest attribute, in which I have been recognized for in my previous roles. I will feel appreciated for my ability to work through challenges, while being adaptable, and able to thrive under pressure, but most of all keeping an open mind with a passionate will to consistently leave my mark in all that I accomplish.
