I am working very hard as the face of a team of volunteers launched last year, called the Butterfly Committee, with the goal of raising £1.3m to build a new Kent Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre in Canterbury. This initial dream is now well on its way to becoming a reality thanks to the efforts and generosity of many kind people including our main patron, Frank Brake (original owner of Brake Brothers) who is matching all monies raised to the end of 2013 making an enormous contribution.I have had MS for 12 years, and it is my passion that this Centre be built. I was 32 when I first got unwell, and the loneliest I felt was in the first 18 Months which I would not want another young mother to go through. I promised if I got my heath back I would do everything I could to highlight this AWFUL illness that still has no cure. I have Relapsing and Remitting MS. The current Kent MS Centre is in a terrible state, it is 25 years old and it is a pre-fabricated building with holes in the roof. There are 1,600 people in East Kent living with MS, but we also believe and live in hope that a cure will be found, and the belief that the therapies that the centre gives us, keeps our hopes alive. This New Centre will be built!

I am working passionately as part of The Butterfly Appeal team on the crusade to achieve the goal of raising £ 1.3m to fund the building of the new MS Therapy Centre in Canterbury in 2014. Helping to plan, organize and deliver a large variety of fund raising events including Balls, Corporate Events, Discos, Quiz Nights, Dances, Karaoke, Golf Days, Marathons, Selling Bricks and many others.I have spoken and presented at such wide ranging venues as Canterbury Cathedral to Primary and Secondary Schools right across East Kent. I have also spoken at Rotary and Masonic Dinners.For all of the efforts of the committee the thanks must go to the thousands of kind supporters for making this dream become a reality. This building will be a credit to all who have supported this cause.

During my time there, I was a very hands on Manager, with my skill of organising the smallest and biggest events to personal details. I am a qualified NVQ trainer, and my greateat ability is to deal with the people on a day to day basis. I have organised functions for 5 to 500, but numbers don't matter, indivuals do. I am proud to have made many happy in my role as their paid organiser.Prior to joining Ashford International, I had worked in Egham, and Reading, all in the catering field, but I always worked with voluntary groups wherever I went.
