About Marydee Sklar
I am a Time Management and Executive Function educator. On a daily basis, I experience the sheer delight in helping people change their own lives. I do this by being an interpreter of neuroscience and teaching my program, Seeing My Time®. I entered this field of focus way back in 1994, long before the term “executive function” entered the mainstream consciousness. By now, my work has touched thousands of lives around the world. (When I questioned the veracity of that statement, my bookkeeper ran the numbers to prove it to me.)My approach to teaching executive function skills is unique because of two things. First, and foremost I am an educator and approach everything with the goal to teach. Second, I myself have a brain that struggles with some key executive functions. I understand these challenges from the inside. This allows me to work with compassion and the ability to instill hope and inspire action. Using my carefully designed curriculum, Seeing My Time, I help people understand the connection between their brain and their time management behaviors. When folks understand the “why,” they are then able to implement the “how,” the steps that change their behavior.This work occurs with students, families and adults from all walks of life. I love helping ambitious people get control of their brain and their executive functioning! Clients include students, physicians, attorneys, engineers, educators, coaches, managers and entrepreneurs. I work with all kinds of brains, neurotypical and neurodiverse, including those with ADHD. I also offer online courses for professionals and educators who want to expand their knowledge and skills to effectively helps others improve their executive functioning. This includes the Teaching the Seeing My Time Program and Building Executive Functions in the Classroom.I am the author of three books connected to executive functioning, along with a brain-friendly planner system designed to support executive functions in adults and students. I am also a public speaker, where I am honored to inform, model and inspire action in others through keynotes and webinars. My dear husband of almost 40 years still makes me laugh. I have immense joy doing things with my remarkable adult children and their very special spouses. I love being in the great outdoors. My kitchen is my happy place. Given my brain’s challenges, I am AMAZED at what I have accomplished. I couldn’t have done it without understanding how to support my brain’s weaknesses. I always tell my clients, “If I can do what I have done, then YOU can do it too.”

CurrentI work with families and individuals who struggle with executive dysfunction in relation to time management and organization. I am the author of a workbook and course called Seeing My Time. It is a program that teaches how the the wiring in the brain impacts people's ability to get things done, be on time and reach goals. The workbook and course provides effective external strategies to compensate for the brain's limitations. I also give presentations and inservice programs on the topic to help professionals and educators meet the needs of people with executive dysfunction.

Provided faculty of Thames Academy with a customized training course to use the Seeing My Time program to support their student population to develop the executive function skills of time management, planning, and organization required for academic and life success. Customization included classroom strategies to support learners with significant learning differences. Upon completion of the course, I was asked back to meet weekly with the staff to provide more staff professional development connected to learning and the brain, and effective teaching practices.
