The flow cytometry lab was subsequently merged with the Hematology/Oncology lab. As part of a 3 person, self-directed team in the Hematology/Oncology Laboratory, I performed CBCs including morphologic review of each sample and manual differentials when indicated; assisted on bone marrow aspiration procedures including coordinating with clinic to collect appropriate samples for all testing requested, processing the sample for pathology, performed manual differential, flow cytometry when indicated, and processing and shipping sample for additional referral and research testing. Other duties included training new staff and students, developing, writing and reviewing procedures, overview of quality control and assurance, performance improvement, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, and served as section liaison for information systems as well as the safety committee.
