Wearing two hats, one in the Events Industry and another in the Food Industry, where both businesses are run by myself and my business partner (aka my other half), ie. a husband and wife team.Let’s start with the Events side –KMT Events is in the business of creating lasting impressions by organising and managing business/corporate events especially gala events and conferences. Also, exposed to the virtual world, managing webinars and virtual conferences.With an extensive IT background, project management, problem solving and analytical skills, we offer creative and result-oriented solutions to the most complex and high-profile bespoke events. We pride ourselves in responding to clients’ needs, advising and guiding them through the cycle of the event - from initial concept to the final wrap-up, doing as much or as little as the client needs -being there every step of the event journey.Now the Food part –KMT Cuisines was born during the pandemic when events were a ‘no-go’, with the vision (our ‘why’) to showcase authentic traditional Singapore hawker street food in Melbourne, not only to fellow Singaporeans and people who have savoured the street food in Singapore, but also to the general Australian public. - spreading and sharing the love and joy of Singapore foodTransporting people back to Singapore and conjuring up memories of the hawker stalls/coffee shops with the look, taste and aroma, reminiscent of how it was in days gone by, at that time when overseas travel was restricted.The idea was brought to life by 'borrowing kitchens’ in cafes/eateries aka pop-up.A little bit about myself – Started my career as a Software Developer, in the Systems Engineering field, progressing to project management then switching to Events Management with my own business.With the food side, it’s like coming full circle having grown up and helping in my family’s restaurant business.Believing strongly in connecting and building relationships, networking with my heart and mind, hence my involvement in several community associations. I am currently the President of the Chinese Professional and Business Association (CPBA) and a member of the Australian Chinese Events Committee (ACEC). “Be happy, enjoy what you do – life is too short” – hence, achieving that end result of an event where all components are well executed and all parties deem the event to be successful and to see an empty bowl (after the noodles/food have been devoured) is absolute joy!
