I want to travel. While I am very creative and people-oriented, I also have strong leadership and organization capabilities, all of which help when working with people of different backgrounds and cultures. I love challenges and hate being bored, so a fast-paced, enterprising company is ideal, especially one that is focused on problem-solving and continuous growth.Most of my skills were developed as a Girl Scout. Because of the program, I ended up working with over 300 girls in Kenya and teaching them about their menstrual cycles at only sixteen. Every year since I was five, I sold Girl Scout Cookies from January until March. Selling these cookies taught me marketing, management, networking, and most importantly, goal-setting. If I sold 1000 boxes, I was able to go to summer camp for free. Which I did, for five years. Of course, Girl Scouts is more than the cookies, and through my troop I learned about social media and how to use it, the environment and how to care for it, and programs and how to run them. In 2015, I earned the Girl Scout Silver Award by renovating and redecorating my local Family Shelter. In 2016, I was invited to the Women's Economic Forum in New Delhi, India, to speak about my experiences. There, I learned about the plights of women and girls in academics in third world countries, and how they were barred from gaining a middle school education due to the lack of menstrual hygiene. So, for my Girl Scout Gold Award, I organized a team of 20 people to visit several villages in Kenya and distribute reusable menstrual kits as we educated them about basic biology.While Girl Scouts isn't the only thing that shaped my life and taught me forever skills, it was a major sculptor of my business career, and I hope that I can continue to hold on to those experiences wherever I end up next.
