I am currently employed as a Disputes Specialist in the Disputes Department. I manage accounts while reviewing, investigating and resolving disputed issues in compliance to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to disputed situations accurately and in a timely manner. Respond to notifications from credit bureaus and reporting agencies. Maintain electronic dispute files including documents, correspondence and other materials. Ensure proper indexing and filing of original legal documents and disputed account information. Prepare other clerical duties such as scanning correspondence and providing information to callers regarding their dispute of debt. Track and follow up disputed accounts, maintain status records of document and verification requests; meet deadlines as required by applicable laws, regulatory requirements and company’s internal procedures. Refer complex matters, lawsuits, threatened lawsuits and Attorney General Complaints to General Counsel upon receipt. Manage E-Oscar updates with the three major Credit Reporting Agencies for accounts in legal recovery status codes. Orders documentation when need to resolve disputes. Discuss disputes with sellers when needed during dispute investigations. Attend training sessions and seminars regarding compliance issues related to the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. In addition assist in helping new co-workers regarding working accounts in E-Oscar and DocLink when asked for help.
