Board on the Health of Select PopulationsDirected a Congressionally-mandated and U.S. Department of Defense-sponsored study of substance use disorders in the U.S. Armed Forces; supervised a committee of fourteen subject matter experts and two staff members; designed and managed all of the project’s activities (including five major meetings and five military base site visits); oversaw the project’s budget; liaised with the study sponsor and related agencies; and compiled, wrote, edited material for the study’s final report, which was publicly released in September of 2012; and assisted with Congressional briefings.
