My greatest passion is being able to teach, direct, show people — no matter how you put it — how to achieve their goals. To aim for the horizon is one outlook, but to dream — and dream big — is so important. Building realistic goals through financial planning helps us to achieve even our most challenging dreams. My role is to help simplify the goals that can seem very difficult.I help clients clarify their financial positions in order to purchase their dream home or manage day-to-day business operations. In any scenario, there is something vitally satisfying about seeing a client achieve their dreams. Through my 20 years of experience in financial services, I have found that when the other person succeeds — and you have played a part — there is shared joy and excitement. When I succeed in helping someone establish their dream business or get back on their feet, that is what fulfils me. At the end of the day, I most value the relationships built on this shared sense of trust, hard work and joy. Ten enjoyable years in bookkeeping motivated me towards new challenges in which I could build these closer, longer-term connections with clients. As a manager at Medical Financial Group, I have discovered that supporting colleagues and championing their successes can be just as satisfying.Completing a Bachelor of Commerce part-time enabled me to become an admitted Chartered Accountant in 2006. Now, as I manage clients, I guide and participate in a diverse portfolio of big dreams made real.In my personal life, I see my passion for cooking in a similar light. It’s the relationships between ingredients — and with the people who enjoy eating what I cook — that bring me joy. Food is the vehicle, but it’s the relationships that drive it.The best advice I can give is to discover your passions and run with them. Mine have been cooking and helping others, and I have been very blessed to be able to do both.
