As a RN I worked in Women's Health--primarily in Labor and Delivery. In 2001 I was offered a position at Navarro College teaching in the Vocational Nursing department. In 2002 I was named Coordinator of the Ellis County program. I continued my duties as a full time instructor as well as supervising the nursing faculty, advising students, maintaining state and college mandated program compliances. In 2006 I left the college to pursue a MA in Literature and write popular fiction full time. In 2007 I took a hiatus from school due to family circumstances. I hope to complete my Masters and teach in the community college setting. I have completed four young adult manuscripts and plan to continue to write popular fiction and seek publication.Specialties: I helped develop a student retention program and was asked to co-present a presentation on the program at the Texas Best Practices for Community Colleges at Hill College in 2005. As a writer, In 2007 I won The Sandy writing contest sponsored by the Colorado Romance writers. In 2008 placed third in the Linda Howard Award of Excellence for unpublished writers.
