Co-founded the agency which serves over 135 new famililes each month with no cost and low cost services for families in transition. F.A.C.E.S. services are available in four offices in Southern CA. Mental health services include family counseling, groups, training and workshops as well as supervised visits for children caught in the crossfire of separation and divorce. My current work (since 1987) is to recruit, interview and train graduate students and interns working toward their license as Marriage and Family Therapists. These talented counselors professionally provide treatment to individuals in crisis from difficult family problems. Our clinics work with uninsured or under-insured families. At FACES, I have extensive experience developing programs, grant and proposal writing, including negotiating contracts and writing program materials for classes.

Built a non profit from scratch with two friends, Shelley Driscoll and Cheryl Ramirez. Therapist for 35 years.

Responsible for developing business plan to launch a 501c3, Developing Articles of Incorporation, hiring personnel, developing a volunteer program, Developing with community members a board of directors, organizing operations of offices in Southern CA. Launched a website in late 1994. Garnered thousands of dollars in grants from various community groups. Recuited volunteers for website management, accounting, counseling, office staff, grant writing, sign building, artwork and fundraising activities. Development of staff policies and procedures, class curricullum, training manuals.

Responsible for developing Articles of Incorporation, Board of Directors, programs for children and families, volunteer recuitment for all aspects of the agency, from websites to accounting. Training, policies and procedures, grant writing, fundraising, office management, outreach marketing, advertising, materials development, budget management, personnel procedures, procurement, troubleshooting, and utilization of consultants. Served on other community boards, member of many community organizations.

Since 1985, conducted marital and couple counseling, , crisis counseling for families and children. Conducted custody evaluations, mediation, stress management. Focus on family owned businesses, alcohol drug problems, phase of life problems.

As a court appointed mediator, counseled parents going through divorce or custody situations. Developed with parents, parenting plans for sharing time with their children. 3000 mediations performed. Developed strategies for return mediations, and other policies still being used at the Family Services Center.
