• Build collaborative relationships with communities, government agencies and organizations throughout Michigan to help them incorporate racial equity into their policies, processes and decision-making, specifically for the AAPI communities.• Advocate of the AAPI community to bring awareness of the Asian community to other entities though relationships, equity training and data.• Resource for the AAPI community within the Michigan Department of Civil Rights regarding Elliott Larson Civil Rights Act which defines civil rights and prohibits discrimination in practices, polices, and customs based upon religion, race, color, national origin, age, sex, height, weight or familial status.

The Michigan Women's Commission (MWC) consists of 15 commissioners and an executive director whom are appointed by the Governor of Michigan. The commission ( Public Act 1 1968) was established after President John F. Kennedy, in 1961, published the Presidential Commission on the Status of Women, ordering that it "examine and recommend remedies to combat prejudices and outmoded customs that act as barriers to the full realization of women’s basic rights." Today MWC tackles complex issues impacting women by bringing awareness to the problem and then collaborates with the appropriate partners, while advising and submitting recommendations and reports to the Governor, Legislature, departments, agencies and officers of the state of Michigan.

Directs OpTech’s government affairs policies and objectives involving local, state, and federal impacting the company. Manages relationships with associations, chambers of commerce and other membership organizations. Works with the leadership team to target, identify and secure new business while strengthening current business relationships. Create and implement corporate communications and marketing strategy, overseas all OpTech programs and events.

Responsible for the general management and coordination of all organizational activities, management and supervision of staff, short and long range planning, membership, and public relations. Serving as a liaison between the Chamber’s Board of Directors to its staff members and the community. Responsible for all aspects of the Chamber’s operations.• Managed a $300,000 budget with a Chamber membership of 600+ Companies.• Created a business plan, budget and strategic plan for the Chamber.• Created a new website, brand identity, strategic plan, and budget.• Created, managed and implemented media strategy for the new Chamber.• Supported Tax Abatement issues for numerous Chamber members to City Council. (One example: Akebono was granted approximately $300,000 tax abatement by the City of Farmington Hills for a $3 million improvement project).

Responsible for all aspects of the Chamber’s operations.• Managed a $500,000 budget with a Chamber membership of 850 Companies.• Created over $100,000, annually, in additional revenue and programming.• Implemented key unique partnerships with WWJ 950 Newsradio,, PrintHouse (Business to Consumer mailings), Southwestern Oakland Cable Commission, and more.• Serve on numerous Community Boards, such as the Community Partnership Council Member, President of the Farmington Arts Council, Farmington Downtown Development Authority Marketing/Promotions Subcommittee member, Officer of the Western Suburban Area Council of Chambers, member of the Oakland Chamber Network, and Pledge for Success Committee.• Worked on the Federal, State and Local level legislators to help defeat legislation which would create the Service Tax in 2008 negatively impacting Farmington/Farmington Hills Chamber members by millions of dollars.

Administrator of all voter programs including voter registration, voter identification, volunteer recruitment, 72 Hour Task Force, voter lists, election law compliance, coalition activity, field activity, and absentee voter activity. Responsibilities included directing over 100 staff members. • Managed to a national “best in breed” for Field Operations, Election Day Operations, and Volunteer Activity. Michigan outperformed every state in many of its political programs. Compared to all other states, Michigan was the first state to contact over 2,000,000 likely Republican Voters. In the final week of the 2006 Election, the Michigan Republicans contacted 418,925 voters-Michigan was second in the nation. Achievements included, 1 million Republicans added to the Republican National Committee’s Michigan voter file database, and this more than doubled the database. Other achievements included a 95% turned out for Republicans to vote on Election Day.• Worked with the Republican National Committee, White House, National Republican Senatorial Committee, the Senate and House Campaign offices, and Statewide and local campaigns on various political projects, which included national visits from the Republican National Chairman, Ken Mehlman, President George Bush, and more. • Managed a $5.5 million dollar Political department budget.• Worked with grassroots county party officials and grassroots activists in all Michigan’s 83 counties. Engaged county party officials that had not been active participants in previous election cycle. • Maintained a Republican Secretary of State (Terri Lynn Land), Attorney General (Mike Cox), majority in Michigan Congressional seats and the Michigan State Senate and either maintained or obtained other Statewide, House and local seats.

Lobbied and managed all corporate legislation, regulations and policies both federally and in 49 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands. Worked with top Kmart executives to determine and promote the company's legislative, political and regulatory agenda affecting all areas of business.• Lobbied the Medicaid cut to pharmacy's costs saving the company over $3 million. Defeated franchise taxes saving $7 million, and defeated additional Kmart relevant legislation saving over $1.3 million in revenues. • Worked with national coalitions to draft language for the Free Trade Agreements (FTA) between the United States and other countries. This coalition cut the duty cost on all imports and reduced onerous paperwork and requirements for future FTA acts, including the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) and the Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA). • Official spokesperson to outside media and government officials regarding policy, store closures, trade, item pricing, political contributions and other government related issues. • Official Kmart representative appointed to numerous legislative Boards, including the Troy Chamber of Commerce, Detroit Chamber of Commerce, National Retail Federation, National Association of Chain Drug Stores, Retail Leaders Industry Association, and Food Marketing Institute. • Managed Public Policy’s financial budget. Initiated grassroots efforts to 1100 pharmacies on all pharmacy legislative issues impacting company financials resulting in millions of dollars saved.• Chairman and Treasurer of Kmart’s Political Action Committee, KmPAC. KmPAC collected dollars from the solicitable employees at Kmart for distribution to federal, state and local legislators who support similar business visions and goals. • Worked in conjunction with key Kmart management in the area of Corporate Diversity programs and initiatives.
