    The Michigan Women's Commission (MWC) consists of 15 commissioners and an executive director whom are appointed by the Governor of Michigan. The commission ( Public Act 1 1968) was established after President John F. Kennedy, in 1961, published the Presidential Commission on the Status of Women, ordering that it "examine and recommend remedies to combat prejudices and outmoded customs that act as barriers to the full realization of women’s basic rights." Today MWC tackles complex issues impacting women by bringing awareness to the problem and then collaborates with the appropriate partners, while advising and submitting recommendations and reports to the Governor, Legislature, departments, agencies and officers of the state of Michigan.

Other achievements included a 95% turned out for Republicans to vote on Election Day.• Worked with the Republican National Committee, White House, National Republican Senatorial Committee, the Senate and House Campaign offices, and Statewide and local campaigns on various political projects, which included national visits from the Republican National Chairman, Ken Mehlman, President George Bush, and more. • Managed a $5.5 million dollar Political department budget.• Worked with grassroots county party officials and grassroots activists in all Michigan’s 83 counties.
