As a Community Resilience Planner for Bucks County, I leverage my public health background to enhance community preparedness and resilience. At the EMA, I connect residents and organizations to foster a whole-community approach to emergency management. I lead Mass Care planning by collaborating with partners like the Red Cross and Salvation Army to address community needs during disasters. Additionally, I conduct tailored outreach, engaging the public with programs and presentations that empower individuals to prepare for and recover from emergencies. In my role as an EOC support staff member, I assist with damage assessments, recovery planning, and developing various emergency plans. During activations, I support the EOC, ensuring smooth operations by providing updated situational awareness. I’m committed to making sure all emergency response plans support everyone in our community, especially those with Access and Functional Needs (AFN). I also manage our social media presence to keep vital information flowing. Furthermore, I represent Bucks County in the Health and Human Services Workgroup of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Regional Task Force and contribute to the AFN, Mass Care, Response & Recovery, and ESF-8 subcommittees. Like many in emergency services, I wear many hats and stay busy working on what I’m passionate about: improving our community’s resilience and ensuring we’re prepared for any challenges.
