About Dr. Mary Lynne Dittmar

Dr. Mary Lynne Dittmar retired after serving as Chief Government and External Relations Officer at Axiom Space of Houston, TX since 2021. She is currently serving as the industry co-chair of the FAA's Space Rulemaking Committee for commercial human spaceflight occupant safety, and previously served as a member of the National Space Council Users' Advisory Group while in her role as founding CEO of the Coalition for Deep Space Exploration (CDSE). She completed 4-year term with the Department of Transportation (DOT) FAA Commercial Space Transportation Advisory Group and a 6 year term with the Space Studies Board of the National Academies in 2021 and 2020, respectively. She is also Space Policy Fellow at the Department of Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering at Purdue University. Her previous experience includes managing Flight Operations for The Boeing Company on the International Space Station Program where she later served as Boeing Chief Scientist for Commercial Payloads. Upon leaving Boeing she founded Dittmar Associates, a consulting firm, and later Farsight Intelligence, a UAS company. She returned to the ISS many years later as Senior Advisor for the International Space Station National Lab. Mary Lynne is a Fellow of American Astronautical Society and the Sigma Xi National Research Society, and an Associate Fellow of the American Institute for Astronautics and Aeronautics. From 2012-2014 she was a member of the National Research Council Committee on Human Spaceflight of the National Research Council. When not in Washington, D.C., she works from her home overlooking the Broad River in the foothills of Western North Carolina.
