I was born and raised in NW Oklahoma City and have lived in various areas of the metropolitan region since I was 16. As the second oldest of nine children and a proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation, my upbringing instilled a sense of resourcefulness and creativity. I developed a passion for art from an early age, which grew alongside my fascination with technology, particularly PCB (Printed Circuit Boards). Watching re-runs of Star Trek the Next Generation with my mother, I vividly remember connecting with the character "Data" and fostering a strong interest in technology.I pursued computer engineering at Oklahoma State University in OKC in August 2015 before transferring to the University of Oklahoma in 2016 for electrical engineering. Recognizing the need for alignment with my interests, skill sets, and abilities, I proposed a self-designed “Electrical Design & Concepts Engineering” major theme with a minor in Electrical Engineering. This allowed me to create a flexible and comprehensive program. For my MDS degree, I curated a rigorous plan of study combining previous coursework with core courses covering crucial electrical engineering and design concepts, complemented by elective classes like "Design Principles and Practice" and "Big Data Engineering." This hands-on approach has prepared me to tackle complex problems and implement effective solutions in the tech industry, with graduation expected in the Summer of 2023 and a walk-in ceremony scheduled for May 2023.My artistic journey has witnessed significant growth in both my skills and style. Exploring various mediums, including pencil, ink, watercolor, clay, beadwork, photography, cinematography, film and photo editing, and makeup art, I primarily work with acrylic and oil on canvas or digitally using my iPad and Procreate. My artwork is known for its vibrant and otherworldly nature. In May 2023, I had the honor of receiving the People's Choice In-Gallery Award at the 52nd Annual Trail of Tears Art Show. Drawing inspiration from my lived experiences, heritage, nature, and dreams, I strive to create pieces that explore landscapes, life, and imaginative objects, infused with deeply personal elements. As a citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, my cultural roots play a vital role in my artistic expression. I aim to honor my heritage while pushing the boundaries of my creativity. Throughout my creative journey, I encourage others to embrace their imagination, embark on a voyage of self-discovery, and find fulfillment in the captivating beauty of art.
