Profile bio

About Mary Paplham

Hello! :) Thanks for taking this time to check out my profile. For those of you who don’t know me (and even those of you who do):I was a participant at the Columbia Publishing Course in 2017 and, more recently, the college managing editorial intern at W. W. Norton this past spring. Currently, I am the managing editorial assistant at Chronicle Books.I have been reading for longer than I can remember, and I have loved learning just as long. Growing up, I was privileged to become well-rounded in my education, skills, and work experience; I did as well in my math classes as I did in my art classes, and I have always loved using my critical and creative abilities in tandem. Over the last nine years, I have worked a variety of jobs, mostly in customer service, and I have found that I work well independently but thrive when that work supports a team and a goal beyond myself. The majority of my publishing experience is in manuscript editing; I have a strong background in proofreading and growing interest in project management, resulting in my current pursuit of a career in managing editorial. When I’m not working, I enjoy reading too many books, watching too much TV, and eating too much chocolate. My other hobbies include thinking about doing some writing, dreaming up graphics to design, and trash-talking my way through board games with family and friends. I love meeting new people and making new friends, so whether you want to talk shop or talk books, movies, and TV, drop me a line!

Listed skills include Writing, Academic Writing, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, and 22 others.
