- Worked on a multi-disciplinary team serving terminally ill patients in nursing homes, assisted livings, and hospitals. Provided emotional support and education to families at the end of life. - Conducted psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, bereavement counseling, and assistance in accessing community resources. - Provided on-call emergency services to patients and their families in their homes.

- Managed a caseload of 20 older adult and disabled clients as a care manager. Assisted clients with a range of needs including advocating in healthcare settings, finding sources of financial help, legal referrals, and applying for benefits such as food stamps (SNAP), fuel assistance, and MassHealth (Medicaid). - Organized affordable housing searches for clients. The process involved researching areas to live, contacting housing authorities and local housing resources, helping with completing housing applications, and tracking applications once submitted. - Assisted older adults transition into assisted living or nursing homes. If the client wished to remain in their homes arranged home care services, meals on wheels, and other needed supports.

Worked on a variety of projects to build membership at the National Association of Social Workers, Massachusetts (NASW-MA) Chapter, advocate for social workers, and help elevate the social work profession. Projects: - Led the Student Ambassador Program at NASW-MA which consists of 24 students from nine schools of social work across the state. Administered all aspects of the program including recruiting, marketing and promotion, and weekly communication with students. - Co-wrote the legislative agenda for 2015-16 which was finalized and approved through the Legislative Advocacy Committee. The agenda was used to guide government relations efforts at NASW-MA. - Recruited, trained, and managed volunteers for NASW-MA’s Legislative Education and Advocacy Day, an annual event attended by over 700 social workers and social work students. - Wrote bill fact sheet for nursing home legislation filed in the 2015-16 session.- Researched and updated sections of the NASW-MA website including pages for Medicare providers. - Lobbied state legislators to support bills and budget proposals to help solve problems for social workers and the clients of social workers, with an emphasis on older adult clients.

Conducted weekly home visits with seniors to help with social isolation, depression, and anxiety. Managed cases leading to the utilization of services such as food stamps, fuel assistance, home care, weekday meal delivery, and MassHealth. Led or participated in groups held at the Belmont Countil on Aging. Groups included a caregiver support group, and a “Boost your Memory Power” class for 16 seniors in the community. Class incorporates memory games, diet, and exercise to help seniors keep their memory sharp.

Lead analyst for a custom-developed workflow application designed to replace Excel spreadsheets and FileMaker databases used across the organization. The application provides visibility into where projects are within the antibody development pipeline, and captures needed data at each step in the process.Managed a team of 5 software developers. Met daily with the team to assign tasks, follow-up on tasks being worked on, and answer questions. Listened to any concerns raised by the team and brought them to the attention of senior managers.After starting the MSW program I continued to work at Cell Signaling Technology part-time until July of 2014.

Contractor for Biogen Idec as an IT Project Manager and Business Analyst. Project manager for a custom software development team developing applications for research. Wrote requirements, developed prototype screens, managed the development process, tested upcoming releases, and rolled out new systems and enhancements to scientists.

Major projects included a shoppers loyalty club for SmartBargains.com customers, gift cards, and a complete site re-design based on usability study. I was responsible for writing functional specifications, managing the project through the development and QA phases, and conducting user acceptance testing prior to launch on the site. I also managed all back-end site changes to support holiday promotions and shipping.

As Program Manager I managed all milestones and project deliverables for a team of 16 developers and QA engineers, most of which are either offshore (Bangalore, India) or in the Atlanta office. I maintained the project plan and issue list including management of the change control process.
