The Sasakawa USA Emerging Experts Delegation (SEED) program engages the next generation of U.S. policy experts and opinion leaders to improve their understanding of Japan and U.S.-Japan relations. The 2024 Delegation represents a wide range of sectors and stakeholders in the disaster risk reduction (DRR) space including federal government (DHS, State, USAID, and EPA), WMATA, National Guard, medicine, academia, and civil society. The research trip will not only serve as an opportunity to dive deeper into Japan’s efforts in gender integration within DRR, but to also establish a network of experts here in the U.S. who are working on these issues from various angles.

The Food Systems Game Changers Lab brings together a global community of food systems solvers around the UN 2021 Food Systems Summit. As a member of the leadership team involved in scaling the Alameda County Circular Food Economy - called ALL IN Eats - I am very proud that our application was selected for this competitive Solutions Accelerator Programme.

I’ve been lucky to have managed virtual teams and coordinated efforts for a wide variety of clients:✓ Implementing digital content plans which included the creation of 600+ blog posts, 50+ press releases and 20+ websites on a monthly basis.✓ Reviewing technical documents (legislation, media stories, and reports) on human rights and environmental issues to research and write 20+ white papers for a fashion industry client and 1,000+ articles for multiple green living clients that addressed industry challenges and gave audience actionable advice. One website was later acquired by RecycleBank while another remains a top consumer resource.✓ Writing and editing user guides, reference manuals, and technical instructions for every database system and piece of software my team uses. These pieces were leveraged to further ROI on subsequent projects.✓ Onboarding and mentoring 25+ writers and editors for in-house team and fostering an agile environment with direct and indirect reports using the latest collaboration tools.✓ Creating processes, managing budgets and resources, and supervising day-to-day internal and external operational efforts at all levels for numerous simultaneous clients to exceed targets and communicate progress on a regular basis.Outside of my client and project work, my interests range from green living to green business, sustainable building designs to organic gardening practices, ecosystem restoration to environmental health, human trafficking to social justice. Created for busy executives, The Green Economy Magazine (TGEInk) publishes case studies, best practices, opinions, and research from industry leaders. ✓ Crafted primary-sourced content by interviewing C-suite executives of local and international mid-cap companies.✓ Collaborated with the Publisher to determine content direction for the editorial pieces.

✓ Researched and wrote 400+ articles for GreenOrder's site called GreenYour.com - a green consumer website that gave readers numerous ways to green their lifestyles. This website was later acquired by RecycleBank.✓ Also developed technical manuals materials for some of GreenOrder's clients.

Started in data entry and quickly moved into management to hire staff and work with c-level executives to grow the department. Oversaw a comprehensive program for engaging alumni, parents, families, friends, and fans of the institution. Developed innovative programs and services and coordinated with direct and indirect reports as well as volunteers to increase pool of annual fund donors.✓ Produced marketing collateral including annual reports, fundraising campaigns, and monthly mailers.✓ Conducted strategic review of disparate multi-departmental database systems for 6,000+ contacts, and led a team to migrate, consolidate, and streamline all donor information into one central system. This improved departmental collaboration, increased communication effectiveness, lowered budgetary needs, and boosted giving to the university.✓ Wrote user guides and technical manuals that enabled end users to understand and more easily use the newly created database and other software systems within the department.✓ Facilitated the modernization of appeals by transitioning department from paper to email, saving incurred costs and giving staff the ability to personalize communications.
