As a qualitative researcher, my mission is simple: to make the world better by informing policy, practice, and education through social science research. I specialize in program evaluation, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and science communication, and I love translating research from paper to practice. Over the past seven years, I have worked with government, academic, and non-profit clients to improve outcomes of ten distinct programs, including: a Federal workforce development initiative; five public history interpretive plans; an alumni network supporting over 200 young professionals; and a scholarship program supporting nearly 400 diverse students. My triple superpower of executive functioning, project management, and interpersonal communication make me an exceptional project leader, team player, and independent worker, and getting to see great programs expand their reach and increase their value through my research outcomes is one of my favorite things.All of my most rewarding professional experiences have included some form of social science research or communication, be that survey development, client interviews, literature reviews, or guidance manuals. My professional path has not been linear, but it has equipped me with flexibility, creativity, perseverance, and experience in multiple industries. I am detail-oriented, skilled in key programs including Tableau, ATLAS.ti, and MS Office, and a quick study who is eager to learn on the job. During my nine months in the position, I coordinated and hosted six professional development workshops, three community-building events, and worked independently during a supervisor's medical leave to distribute 90 books to students within one of the scholarship programs. I had worked with MobilizeGreen before, but had never created an alumni network from the ground up! Excited by the opportunity, I quickly got up to speed, connecting with program alumni directly through two Qualtrics surveys to see what they wanted from the network, and researching alumni network tips and advice from prominent resource pages. In order to ensure collaborative innovation, I recruited and led a group of four Founding Members of the alumni network. We met quarterly to assess alumni engagement and brainstorm new ideas. By November 2020, we had developed and implemented resources and programming for 500+ MobilizeGreen alumni across the country, including two social media platforms, six webinars, and ongoing resource sharing opportunities. When I left the position, I ensured a smooth transition through accurate transition documentation and exit interviews with remaining staff.RECRUITMENT & HIRINGI wrote position descriptions, screened resumes, and interviewed applicants for MobilizeGreen Resource Assistant positions with the U.S. Forest Service during summer 2019, involving screening over 600 applicants and conducting 35 interviews. Although I had never actively recruited for positions before, being on the other side of the interviewing table was a great experience, and honed my skills in oral and written communication, documentation, and Microsoft Excel. Stakeholders included Forest Service staff, 9 community partner organizations, and 226+ Resource Assistants from diverse backgrounds. I consistently and creatively supported all 226+ Resource Assistant interns across the country through webinars, newsletters, and events, culminating in the first annual Resource Assistants Program Conference in Washington, D.C. in June 2018. 100 Resource Assistants participated in three days of professional development and networking opportunities designed and implemented by me and the rest of the Volunteers & Service team.QUALITATIVE RESEARCH & DATA ANALYSISI developed, distributed, and analyzed three different Qualtrics surveys to obtain feedback from Resource Assistants and Federal partners. DATA ORGANIZATION & PROJECT MANAGEMENTOne of my main projects during the summer was to develop and implement protocols for organizing records of existing land trust holdings to enable a partner organization's designation as an accredited land trust. This project involved organizing hard copies of 100+ land holdings, scanning these hard copies into a digital database, and coding them appropriately. As the lead for this project, I learned a great deal about information organization and accessibility. -
