I started my pre-press work experience at The Mid-York Press running a Compugraphic system to output text and create art boards with over lays for packaging. This was the same system that I trained on in college. I learned how to shoot film on a camera that took up two rooms! (wish I had pictures of it) Then strip film, merge separations in the dark room with multiple exposures. Special exposures for chokes and spreads to create traps. Set up step and repeat programs for the machine to paginate your film into multiple exposures. This progressed to learning how to evolve into the Mac II system. With on sight training by people in the print industry and start creating these same art files electronically. I feel fortunate to have the background and history of how this whole industry has evolved.
