I am an engineering and technology consultant specializing in manufacturing industries. I have an extensive background in process optimization, waste reduction, business analysis, and numerous other words, phrases, and even a few acronyms that all mean helping clients to do whatever they do more efficiently.I enjoy learning about my client companies and helping them to make the most of their systems. I started as an automation specialist, but have spent as much time, or more, driving wasted steps and processes out of manual systems. One thing that has proven true again and again is that separation helps. A third-party who does not live with the day-to-day process, and who does spend time seeing what other companies are doing, can see things that captive employees cannot see, or sometimes even insist cannot be. That is why I like consulting so much.I spent a number of years as one of those captive employees benefiting from management that embraced innovation. Sadly, after a corporate takeover battle, and some years of a "Your Name Here" velcro strip on the building, that innovation stagnated, and I left to go into the consulting career that looked so appealing back in college.Then after about 9 years working for and with some great people, but traveling far too much for my tastes, I opened Buckeye Engineering Services & Technologies, Inc. (BEST Engineers). While those nine years with other consulting firms provided me the opportunity to work in a number of diverse industries and technologies, I am back to focusing on my native Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, and I and my people have been bringing a world-class consulting approach to NE Ohio manufacturing firms ever since.We do some custom programming and website work as well through our E-Systems group, but in all cases, my focus and my company's focus is on helping our clients to be the best they can be.Specialties: Business process optimization, business analysis, process automation, systems design, manufacturing process development, systems integration, software evaluation/selection/implementation assistance.
