In this project I´m responsible for Dashboards implementation in Microstrategy v8.1.2, these dashboards provide informations about Telemarketing performance for financial department managers, we work together with business area to gather informations, design model, implement ETL process and design all solutions. Actually we´re in migration process from Crystal reports to Microstrategy (96 reports will be migrate to this platform). This implementation solves many problems in telemarketing management, before this was impossible to measure the metrics for this department.

Responsible for business intelligence architecture, since design the solution until the application delivery. Working with most popular BI tools, like Microsoft. Microstrategy, DataStage, Business Objects, Pentaho, etc. Project and resource management are other tasks in this position.

In this project I develop a new Data Mart with a new concept (instant warehouse) this DataMart is updated from 15 to 15 minutes and gather all information from the 598 stores from Grupo Pão de Açúcar (a great market network in Brazil). This system shows all information from revenue divided by category (Books, Eletronics, Clothes, Food, Drink, etc) and by Stores/Region. It was developed using Microsoft DTS (SQL Server 2000) and Dashboards in Microstrategy Platform (V8.1.2). All the system was developed and validate by me. The gain with this system, after implementation, was decision faster, during the operation day is possible to alter the strategy of a market promotion or replicate a successful one to another stores.

I’m responsible for the updates/new developments in BI system that generates information for quality and warranty departments in GM organization. This system is composed by DataStage´s jobs that acquire informations from the Global DataWarehouse (in mainframe server – DB2) and populate these informations in the local Data Mart that is located in a Solaris Machine, running DB2 RDBMS. The user manipulates the data with MicroStrategy reporting tool. I offer the support in both tools, and in all steps of ETL process such as new developments too. Ad hoc requirements in this support are common tasks. I, also, use the project management concepts like PMI and other metrics to measure the end user’s satisfaction.

My responsibilities in this project was manage/customize and develop new reports and new projects using various BI tools, like Microstrategy and support the ETL/OLAP environment and users, providing new customization and maintenance of the system such as write stored procedures and improve performance (tuning) on warehouse’s environment (build on SQL Server 2000). Other task was the migration of DTS jobs from SQL Server 2000 to 2005.

I was responsible for all the development of the Datawarehouse system information in this customer, since gather information, modeling and deploy of logical and physical data model (with Erwin data modeling tool) and develops reports in Microstrategy. This project begins on april/2004 and we use the Sagent ETL tool and Microstrategy v8 as OLAP tool. In this project I have the functions of Business Analyst/Project Manager and BI developer, getting the business rules to develop the Dimensional model and create the jobs in ETL to populate the model. I already have the tuning competence in my scope of activities and the design of reports and all customizations in MicroStrategy environment (v8.0). Other issue to attend was the training, support and new reports developments.

I begin my Business Intelligence career in this consulting making POC’s (proof of concept) of Business Intelligence/ Warehouse tools. This POC’s was little projects that we test and validate some tools of Business intelligence, and act together with the commercial department to sell consulting services and softwares. The tools that I worked was Sagent, DataStage, MicroStrategy and Actuate (this last we was legal representative here, in Brazil so the focus on the tests was this tool). After two years in this position, I was invited to coordinate and develop the DataWarehouse of one of our clients (the Recife’s city hall). In this project I gather all the requisites to design the logical/physical dimensional model of eight DataMarts that would give information for ten business areas. I already coordinate the development team of ETL/OLAP such was responsible, too, for the environment setup, design the solution and other tasks that was relevant for the system. We used Sagent as ETL/OLAP tool running on Unix platform.
