Hi there! I’m Sofia. I got my degree as an ESL teacher at Universidad Nacional de Tucumán, and I’ve been teaching English as a second language for more than 5 years. Currently, I'm working as a Spanish Language assistant in the UK, under the Language Assistant Program in the United Kingdom, granted by the Ministry of Education of the Argentine Nation and the British Council. In addition, I'm also working as a Spanish and English Tutor.I’ve also taught at different English institutes to children, teens and adults, and worked as a teaching assistant at Universidad Nacional de Tucumán, in the subject English Language II, which is oriented towards a B2 level according to the CEFR.I’m passionate about teaching, and find highly rewarding not only when my students understand the grammar, but also when they are able to communicate and learn about the English culture. I am an organized, methodical and patient person, who dedicates the necessary time to make sure that my students truly understand a topic and, most importantly, have fun in the process!Apart from studying and teaching, I’m also a volunteer and counselor at a NGO inclined towards cultural and educational exchanges worldwide, called AFS.I’m really looking forward to enhancing my students’ skills on the language, through dynamic and interactive methods, either virtually or face to face. I strongly believe that virtuality has become a life changing tool for educators, for which it needs to be taken advantage.I’m primarily inclined towards a CLT approach, since I believe that communicating and experiencing real life situations is one of the best ways to improve one’s linguistic skills and exploit speakers’ potentials, yet I also believe that a correct Grammatical usage should be equally nurtured to communicate effectively.If you have any doubt, don’t hesitate to send me a message!
