About Michael S.

I am a seasoned Technologist and Strategist with over 30 years of senior executive level experience with a number of top corporate firms within the United States. My experience spans multiple industries from Banking to Brokerage firms & Health Care. I have led IT divisions for companies including Cantor Fitzgerald - eSpeed, Compuware, Credit Suisse, GHI and Emblem Health. I have extensive international experience; having worked in the public and private sectors which spans from the US Navy, to Financial and Healthcare organizations. I have made numerous presentations to the IT industry. I am a member of the American Society for Quality, the Carnegie Mellon Institute and a member of the Executive Board of Visitors at Hofstra University. Additionally, I am a adjunct professor in the Hoftra’s Continuing Education Department. I am a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Software Quality Engineer, Software Engineer and an ITIL practitioner. My areas of expertise are many and include managing, coordinating project plans and deliverables, developing and coordinating Quality Assurance processes and strategies, building relationships with software and hardware vendors as well as recruiting and attracting talented technologists to my team. I have provided the vision, architecture and led the implementation of large scale global CRM and Decisions Support systems. I have implemented proactive monitoring as well as quantitative metrics for both Quality Assurance and IT Service management which is used to assess operational risk as well as proactive trouble shooting and optimizing performance. These Key Performance Indicators (KPI”s) are produced for the highest level of executives with the EmblemHealth organization and is also used to reduce operational costs.
