Mason is a skilled and passionate comedy writer and performer. He's a genuine people-person who works well with all people. Well… most people. Some people. Ok he doesn't work well with anyone. But he puts up a good front. He's worked for many fine businesses across the years, contributing heaps. One boss referred to him as ‘..basically just a chilled out entertainer’. Mason responded ‘Did you steal that line from Ricky Gervais?’ And the boss replied ‘Shuttup and keep digging’.Comedy pushed him to leave the skullduggery of the corporate world in 2021 and to take up full-time comedy writing. Since then he has written several sitcom-pilots, and hundreds of comedy sketches. In 2023 Mason dedicated the year to writing one piece of sketch comedy every single day and posted it on his website (masonhellcat.com). And by jove he bloody did it. 365 pieces of written comedy. Dedicated, committed, hard-working, funny.In 2024 Mason wrote, produced and starred in a one hour live comedy sketch show, The Simple Creatures. All performances sold out and the reviews were glowing. One audience member claimed the show ‘…felt like a cross between The Goodies and Monty Python’.Mason inexplicably holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) majoring in Film, and Sociology from the University of New South Wales but he spent more time at the pub than in class so maybe don’t rely on that qualification as a good sign of his skill set.
