Appointed under President Obama to work to address the issues confronting the pan-Asian community, especially immigration and healthcare. Chosen to help in improving the quality of life and opportunities for AAPIs, to increase awareness around critical issues facing the AAPI community and to highlight key federal programs and resources in which AAPIs may be underserved.

Youngest delegate to the United Nations. As a part of the UN delegation, my work was focused on the Main Committees of the General Assembly. My primary responsibilities were concentrated in the First Committee (Disarmament and International Security Issues), Second Committee (Economic and Financial Issues), and Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Matters). While attending Committee meetings, the topics of nuclear disarmament, human rights, and climate change (with a focus on climate financing) were explored. I was also involved with a UN DOALOS working group. I was occasionally also involved with the Fourth and Sixth Committees, as well as other meetings that required attention. Consultative status after 2016.

Translated various documents for Yale Law School clinics (English and Chinese, oral interpretation and written)

Supported lectures, answered student questions, and graded problem sets for MATH 190 "Fractal Geometry" for Professor Michael Frame, approximately 100 students each semester.Contributed to "Fractal Worlds: Grown, Built, and Imagined," Yale University publication on Fractal Geometry.

Elected Member of the Yale student government, representing Morse Residential College. Helped rewrite student government constitution. On Gender Neutral Housing Committee, leading projects on affordable Yale-Bradley airport shuttle services, student discounts, and academic grade weighing. Elected as a Freshman in college.

Working on Brazil, China, India Leadership Programs, helping to organize programs through event planning, office work, and translating. Facilitated world leaders' engagement in Yale's Leadership Program.

Member of 5-person team responsible for reformulating national counterterrorism policy

Organized US-China trade commission presentation, translating official documents, immigration policy reform campaign, member of Bellevue Eastlink Light rail project. Communicated with partner cities, proposed Tsinghua-University of Washington exchange program. Helped found American Immigration Forum, a non-profit for engaging minorities on immigration issues. Stayed on in a task member role.
