I am currently working as secondary science teacher at Thomas Alleyne Academy in Stevenage, specialising in KS5 biology and KS5 physics. During the 2024-2025 academic year, I will be leading on assessment and progress data within my department. This also includes curriculum development across all key stages.I like to draw on my experiences from studying biomedical sciences at university to ensure students are engaged and inspired by science lessons. During my undergraduate studies, I developed a high level of organisation and time management in accomplishing projects for university and through my extracurricular activities. Aside to education, I was able to further my experience in talent development as part of the Norfolk Hockey Development Group, and my skills as a research scientist in developmental biology through research with the Munsterberg laboratory at UEA.Outside of teaching, I umpire indoor and outdoor hockey to national level and further my development in sport development by coaching hockey umpires in both the London area and the NPUA across England. I lead the National Youth Umpiring Promising List (NYUPL) which includes responsibility for coordinating and appointing to all national level youth competitions using umpires from the promising list as well as the national association. This is a mentoring-based role which also entails work as an umpire coach and umpire manager at events.
