I interact with employees and the public to facilitate meaningful changes at the City of Leawood. The Recreation Team strives for excellence in serving clients, fellow employees, the Governing Body, and citizens. I handle opening and closing city buildings, ensuring cleanliness, proper setup, trash removal, and security. I assist patrons with event-related needs such as setup, technology, and enforcing rules, work with third-party vendors, and oversee audio/visual equipment during events. I provide tours and information about large-scale rentals, work independently during private events, handle last-minute layout changes, and interact with Leawood police officers. I may assist with registration for programs, special events, facility rentals, and pool passes, ensuring information is entered into the RecTrac software system and directing questions to the appropriate staff member.Additionally, I am designated by the City of Leawood to complete other duties for the Parks & Recreation Department throughout the year

I manage and oversee daily operations at the aquatic center, including pool preparation, cash operations, water quality maintenance, supply ordering, and coordinating pool usage with swim/dive teams and day camp programs. I operate a city vehicle as part of my responsibilities, which supports my role in ensuring smooth operations. Additionally, I supervise and evaluate seasonal staff, create schedules, manage time sheets, and distribute uniforms. I monitor daily attendance, weather, and feedback to ensure guest satisfaction, oversee pool and concession operations, conduct emergency drills, and run swim lessons for kids. I also manage after-hours rentals and events at the pool facility, inform the supervisor of maintenance issues, and handle the weekly schedule to ensure adequate staffing. Safety and patron experience are my top priorities for the aquatic center’s success.In addition to this role, I am designated by the City of Leawood to complete other duties throughout the other seasons for the Parks & Recreation Department

I teach participants swimming and safety skills in water using the Starfish Swim School program. This program is designed for preschool, youth, and adult students and focuses on developing a strong foundation of swimming and safety skills. Additionally, I instruct the Starfish Stroke School, which is aimed at youth and adult students and focuses on developing effective swim technique and endurance.

As an Emergency Management Student Worker, I support the UNLPD in various emergency planning and response efforts across campus. I’m actively involved in developing the All-Hazards Response Plan, which requires collaboration with key campus leaders, including the Vice Chancellors, college deans, and other high-level officials, to ensure the university is prepared for a wide range of potential emergencies.In addition to planning, I assist with operational duties at large events, such as football games, where I help monitor safety protocols and manage emergency responses to ensure a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position allows me to gain hands-on experience in emergency management, develop crisis communication strategies, and work with professionals in public safety and campus leadership on projects that enhance the overall security and preparedness of the university community.

The FCLA program provides opportunities to build leadership skills, network with university administrators, and collaborate on projects that impact campus life. As a Campus Life and Safety Committee member for ASUN’s 2024-2025 session at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I collaborate with fellow students and university leaders to enhance campus safety, address student concerns, and promote a secure and inclusive environment. My role involves assessing campus safety policies, contributing to discussions on emergency preparedness, and implementing initiatives that foster a safer campus community. I work directly with key campus leaders to ensure that student voices are heard in campus safety and well-being decisions.

Chosen to serve as the ASUN representative for Student Life, working to help launch the Hazing Prevention Coalition. This initiative is focused on raising awareness within the Husker community about the risks of hazing and advocating for positive change. With recent federal legislation providing new momentum, we are creating opportunities for important conversations about prevention. Our goal is to empower students, faculty, and staff to actively prevent hazing through education, advocacy, and collaboration.

As the High Kappa of Lambda Chi Alpha at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I lead and mentor over 25 men as we establish our chapter with the support of the IFC and Lambda Chi Alpha's Office of Administration. I focus on building a strong foundation of brotherhood, leadership, and personal growth, guiding our chapter through the challenges of starting from scratch.
