A well-rounded high school student, Mason Bird excels in academics, athletics, and service. He has earned college credit through successful completion of several Advanced Placement (AP ) courses, including Language and Composition and World History. Now a senior at his local public high school, Mason Bird has continued to pursue such challenging courses as AP Literature and AP Calculus. Also registered for Honors Physics and other high-level classes, he maintains a weighted grade point average (GPA) of 4.74.Outside of the classroom, Mason Bird enjoys competing on his school's varsity soccer team, through which he earned the title of Conference Player of the Year in 2012. Dedicated to sharing his gifts with the community, he also enjoys coaching younger players in Upward Soccer, a Christian-based youth organization. In addition, Mr. Bird has volunteered much of his time at a local soup kitchen, with international organization Operation Christmas Child, and as a supporter of Special Olympic athletes. He has also traveled to Honduras as a participant in two multi-generational mission trips.
