I was elected secretary of KIVA Club, which helps raise capital to invest in and fund low-income entrepreneurs, who are launching small businesses in developing areas across the world. As such I worked directly with the organization and our own chapter president to help set up meetings, fundraising events, and help communicate to those donating and those being funded. During my time, we microfinanced the ventures of over fifteen low income entrepreneurs in third world countries. In total, I was able to plan fundraising events and activities that allowed the club to raise over $2,500 of capital that immediately benefitted entrepreneurs in third world countries. -Planned fundraising events to raise capital for potential entrepreneurs to invest in-Raised over $2,500

During this time, I was a peer mentor for special needs students at my high school's "Imago Dei," or Image of God, special needs program. I worked side by side with children diagnosed with autism and aspergers to help better engage them in the school and the community. I was able to help the children connect with their fellow classmates and improve in the classroom by easing them out of their comfort zones into more social and academic enviroments. Ultimately, the students I was fortunate enough to work with were able to not only able to branch out and make new friends, but there was a noticeable newfound interest and comfort in learning that wasn't there before.-Helped special needs children reach out of their comfort zone to achieve new levels of social interaction and academic achievement
