Mason Burns Email and Phone Number
From my graduate training to my current position as an Assistant Professor at the University of Indianapolis, I have demonstrated a history of working in higher education as both an educator and researcher. My research interests concern the development and maintenance of interpersonal biases, along with a particular emphasis on bias reduction. Across numerous programs of research, I have examined the impact of various bias reduction strategies (e.g., self-regulation, counterstereotyping, and interpersonal confrontation) on overt and subtle forms of bias directed toward a number of stigmatized groups. My interest in bias extends to understanding how and why people develop self-serving biases and the potential interpersonal consequences of these biases. I have teaching experience ranging from small (enrollment: 6 students) to large (enrollment: 250 students) classes and from introductory (multiple sections of Introductory/Elementary Psychology) to graduate level (Graduate Methods in Psychology & Graduate Statistics in Psychology) courses.
