I am passionate about many things. At the top of that list is the incredible work I have the pleasure doing every day with youth in the greater Sacramento area. I consider myself to be a creative problem solver and a natural promoter. These skills are put to work everyday. Youth homelessness is a huge problem affecting our city and it goes unseen. Because of personal experience, I have a unique understanding of this issue and the effects on a at-risk youth's life. I am a speaker and an author of two books ‘Dad in a Day: When My Mom’s Kids Became My Own’ and ‘Discover Life Beyond Crisis: A Guide for Overcomers’.

Participate with supporting Family Coach and Host Family volunteers on all aspects of the hosting process,including being available on an emergency, on call basis.4. Participate with maintaining files for all Safe Refuge volunteers ensuring that they are complete with regard to all the necessary particulars.5. Consult with Program Supervisor and assist in the intake of families requiring SRCF support and in matchinghosting needs with host families6. Responsible for quality of client care: to plan, develop, and administer programs such that basic, developmental,and therapeutic needs of clients in care are met7. Develop and implement in-service trainings for staff and on-going training for Safe Refuge volunteers and parents.8. Participate in the planning and development of Safe Refuge for Children + Families annual events (recruitment, funding, holiday, etc).9. Maintain current knowledge pertaining to Safe Refuge approval process, recruitment, and training; continueprofessional development through seminars and conferences.10. Participate in weekly Safe Refuge meetings, and group/individual supervision11. Collaborate with all Safe Refuge for Children + Families staff to provide information (monthly reports, in-person verbal reports, highlight SRCF volunteers/parents/etc).
