I am currently the the Deputy Director for the Division of Education and Training at The Fenway Institute. In this role, I supervise the staff running programs including the National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center, the LGBTQIA+ Aging Project, and a Rural TransECHO program. Prior to my position at Fenway, I served as Interim State and Local Policy Manager at GLSEN National and Director of Advocacy at Keshet. Additionally, I served six years as the Executive Director for the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition (MPTC). During my time at MTPC, I successfully led efforts to achieve trans-inclusive laws and policies, including non-binary gender markers on Massachusetts state ID's, removing restrictive laws on birth certificate gender markers, pushing for state-wide trans-inclusive healthcare policies, and passing and defending nondiscrimination protections for gender identity in public accommodations. I was co-chair of the successful 2018 "Yes on 3" ballot campaign, a first of its kind campaign that won with 67% vote across Massachusetts. I am also an adjunct faculty member at the University of New Hampshire, Manchester, teaching in the communications department. I am a member of the Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth, and also sit on the board of the Equality Federation. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire School of Law in 2012. I was a Daniel Webster Honors Scholar, a student mentor, president of Lambda Legal, prior co-chair of the Diversity Action Coalition, marshal of Phi Alpha Delta, a student mentor, and was awarded the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship and Public Interest Coalition Fellowship. My Specialties: LGBTQ Leadership, Policy Advocacy, Coalition Building, Education, Gender Diversity, Trans Identities, Grant Writing, Public Speaking, Lobbying, and Diversity Programs

Executive DirectorMassachusetts Transgender Political Coalition Aug 2013 - Apr 2019Boston, Ma, UsThe Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition (MTPC) is dedicated to ending oppression and discrimination on the basis of gender identity and gender expression.Rooted in social justice, we educate the public, advocate with state, local, and federal government, engage in activism, and encourage empowerment of community members through collective action. We envision a world where persons of all genders are treated with respect and fully participate in all areas of society, free from fear, harassment, or violence based on their gender identity and/or expression. We understand oppression to be an imbalance of power intrinsically linked to the privileges bestowed on some at the expense of others, based on but not limited to: race, ethnicity, gender expression and identity, class, ability, sexuality, religion, citizenship status, age, language capacity, and history of incarceration and court involvement. -
Co ChairFreedom For All Massachusetts/"Yes On 3" Campaign Jun 2015 - Jan 2019In June 2015, the broad-based bipartisan coalition Freedom for All Massachusetts launched with the goal of updating Massachusetts’ longstanding civil rights laws to include nondiscrimination protections for transgender people in public places such as restaurants, hotels, and hospitals. The campaign aimed to add gender identity as a protected category in the Commonwealth’s public accommodations law alongside age, race, creed, color, national origin, sexual orientation, sex, religion, and marital status. The Commonwealth had already had gender identity nondiscrimination protections in employment, housing, education and credit since 2011.In May 2016, Baker indicated that he would sign the bill. By June, the law had passed by an overwhelming bipartisan supermajority of votes in both legislative chambers. It went into effect on October 1, 2016, making Massachusetts the 18th state to fully protect transgender people from discrimination under the law. The "Yes on 3" campaign worked to ensure these basic rights remained the law on the ballot in November 2018.
