Developed a movie recommendation system using the MovieLens 100k dataset with Python, PyTorch, and pandas.Implemented collaborative filtering via matrix factorization and enhanced the system with K-means clustering for pattern recognition. Utilized PCA for data visualization and applied machine learning concepts including neural networks and dimensionality reduction.Presented the project at the OpenMI Project Showcase to industry leaders and faculty.

Conducted computational biology research at The Boyle Lab under Dr. Alan Boyle. Engineered a C++ bioinformatics pipeline to identify mobile element insertions (MEIs) in genomic data using the NCBI C++ Toolkit, SAMtools, and minimap2. Implemented sequence alignment, BLAST operations, and CIGAR parsing, integrating PALMER for enhanced MEI detection in Cas9-targeted nanopore sequencing.
