Working on a retainer basis, I offer clients the ability to access my experience and expertise on an as needed basis. Recent engagements include assisting in setting up the IT footprint for a brand new organization, assisting executive teams with specific organizational challenges such as moving to the cloud or conducting project post-mortems after a failure. Rates range quite a bit, and flexibility is the hallmark of these engagements.

Working on virtually every aspect of the analysis, design, procurement, implementation and operation of single window of entry portals for foreign educated professionals. I have successfully implemented three portals globally in the past decade working on all aspects on their design, implementation and transition to their operational phase. I am currently working on my fourth. This work involved complicated governance, requirements and implementation efforts in which I managed and led teams composed of specialists around the world. Client governance models range from single stakeholders nationally to upwards of 20 organizations requiring significant alignment efforts prior to final design and implementation.

I have designed and successfully led many large projects involving teams ranging in size from 2-60 people working locally and globally. Projects have lasted from months to years and had budgets from 5-8 figures. My goal has always been client success and that was what was delivered (references upon request of course!). While I adhere to project management principles, I focus on alignment and people first. If you aren't focused on the "right" project and don't have the team in place to do it you won't be successful. Let's start there.

Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRMs) cut across organizational lines and require companies to think and act differently. Complicated from a technology perspective, these systems often bring a significant change at the organizational level as well. Both of these must be managed in equal measure to ensure success. I have worked extensively with both vendors, integrators and customers alike to define requirements, procure the right solution, design the most effective project, establish the right team, contract with the right vendors, and implement, respectively. Recent projects have involved both client-server and cloud-based systems, or often both. Specifically, many organizations are ow upgrading from client-server to cloud technologies. These experiences have taught me that neither party can lose if both want to win. These projects require win-win thinking and tight dedicated teams to succeed.

Starting as an instructor in UNB's Technology Management Entrepreneurship program, moving on to engaging with a number of incubators and start-up companies, I have spent over a decade working with young companies to help them grow. Engagements tend to focus on business development, strategy and marketing. And I eat my own dog food, I run my own business using these principles and live them every day. The old consulting adage "do it to you versus do it with you" applies here. Theory can often crumble in the face of real life, I first work to understand your business deeply, and then focus on finding real-world workable solutions to help you achieve your goals.

Acting as an interim IT lead/CIO (sometimes called "rent a CIO) I help organizations in both the public and private sector stabilize, manage and transform their IT departments. Mandates have been as short as four months and as long as four years including a range of projects including a complete overhaul of the IT function and associated infrastructure. Clients range in size from 100-2,000 employees.
