My current research focuses on improving nutrient status assessment in European agricultural landscapes through observational and modeling approaches within the Global Water Quality Analysis and Service Platform (GlobeWQ) pilot project. I am a skilled communicator and experienced in project management, problem-solving, and data analysis. In addition to my professional experience, I am a lifelong learner and constantly looking for new knowledge and skills to expand my capabilities. I worked as a research and study assistant in the Water System and Global Change (WSG) group at WUR.As a research assistant, I was involved in the INMS (International Nitrogen Management System) project (http://www.inms.international/). This project aims to bring together academia, the private sector, and civil society to collect and synthesize evidence that can support international policy development to improve global nitrogen management. I was responsible for the following tasks:- In-depth study of global nitrogen inputs to the soil from diffuse sources (fertilizers, manure) for the INMS project.- Preparation and processing of large geospatial datasets using professional software (ArcGIS, RStudio, Panoply).- Building model confidence by comparing prepared datasets with other available studies and literature- Participating in discussion meetings for the INMS project- Authored research abstracts (one as first author at the regional level and another as co-author at the global level) and submitted them to the INI2020 (International Nitrogen Initiative) conferenceAs a study assistant with the WSG group, I helped supervise an MSc dissertation student by helping him learn how to process data using the ArcGIS tool. I also ran the WSG group's dissertation ring, which is used to discuss dissertation issues among students.

I did my MSc internship for 6 months in the MIDDEN project (Manufacturing Industry Decarbonization Data Exchange Network) (https://www.pbl.nl/en/middenweb-project-summary). This project aims to support industry, policy makers, analysts and the energy sector in their joint efforts to deeply decarbonize the Dutch energy intensive industry. I completed my internship in 2018 and received the "MIDDEN Expert Certificate".The research objective of my study was to investigate decarbonization options for the Dutch fertilizer industry.The internship consisted of the following elements: - Compiling an inventory of public literature and information of company sites and reconstructing current sites and processes.- Reporting to industry representatives and experts - Completing required data, including references and quantitative derivation- Factual and transparent reporting and evaluation of the significance of the results - Communicating the results in team meetings and presentations- Writing of a scientific report and publication on the website of the PBL (Dutch Environmental Assessment Agency)

Msc Thesis On Integrated Water Quality Modelling | Grade: 8.5/10

I completed my MSc thesis in the Water System and Global Changes (WSG) group at WUR. The WSG group is a multidisciplinary research group where staff and students can develop new skills and excel in their science of water systems and global changes. The objective of my research was to "analyze past and future trends in river export of multiple pollutants to the Bay of Bengal from point sources at the sub-basin level under different socio-economic and climatic scenarios." Multiple pollutants are Nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus), pathogens (Cryptosporidium), chemicals (triclosan), and microplastics.I completed my dissertation with a grade of 8.5 out of 10, with the following activities.- Developed an integrated model (based on the MARINA model) for the Bay of Bengal to calculate the export of multiple pollutants from point sources to streams at the sub-basin level.- Updating the water quality model to include open defecation as a point source- Updating the water quality model to include updated pollutant retention datasets for streams and variable infiltration capacity (VIC) model hydrology- Completed writing a 70-page thesis and published a research summary as first author at a European Geoscience Union (EGU) conference

European Workshop

I enrolled in the course “European Workshop Environmental Sciences and Management” at WUR, in which I worked, together with a group of 30 students of different nationalities and disciplinary background, on a case study with a focus on Environmental Services of a peri-urban park located in the south of Prague, Czech Republic. We collected data through interviews with different stakeholders, questionnaires and by observations on site. At the end, we analysed the collected data, incorporated the feedbacks, wrote a concise consultancy report and presented our findings to the Prague Institute of Planning and Development (IPR PRAHA).During the workshop, I was part of observation team (a team of 10 people responsible for data collection through observation on site). I also joined presentation team (a small team of 4 people for presenting the results to the IPR PRAHA) and communicated our findings to the client at Prague.
