Environment Park was founded in 1996 by Regione Piemonte, Provincia di Torino, Comune di Torino with the support of EU . The Park plays a prominent role in transferring advanced solutions and innovative technologies to small and medium sized enterprises settled within the region, together with the diffusion of significant best practises, through special projects, specific training activities and the organization of thematic events. On of the main activities of Environment Park is carried out by Clean NT Lab the laboratory for surface treatment with low environmental impact nanotechnologies (Clean). Major tasks are dedicated to Research, Development and Technological Transfer (R&D-TT) of innovative solutions for industry. The nano-technological surfaces are realized on thermolabile and thermo-resistant surfaces by the use of eco-efficient vacuum and atmospheric pressure plasma processes. Environment Park integrates competences in different scientific disciplines: Chemistry, Solid State Physics, Plasma Physics, Material Science. The mission is to offer eco-efficient targeted solutions for surface treatment in new fields of applications, that cover traditional and innovative industrial fields. Moreover, over the past 4 years has developed competences in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies with the aim of evaluating the environmental burden caused by the innovative plasma processes developed within the laboratory.
