As head of the Legal Department of AbbVie Italy, he and his team of dedicated lawyers provide legal support to all business franchises (commercial and manufacturing operations) as well as support functions on a varierty of routine, non-routine and strategic matters (advice and litigation).As head of Legal, he advises on a permanent basis his GM and business leaders on legal implications and opportunities arising in connection with strategic business objectives with focus on commercial strategies and market access-related matters and projects including P&R negotiations, P&R agreements interpretation, enforcement and re-negotiation, cost containment measures (hospital and retail payback, biologics'/biotechnologies' and biosimilars' national and regional cost containment measures), public tenders for biologics, biosimilars and therapeutic equivalence of different molecules, legal regulatory aspects. Also, in team with Regulatory and Medical he advises on all marketing projects launched at affiliate or global level covering competition, privacy and legal regulatory aspects involved. As part of International Legal, an international organization within AbbVie, he advises on a regular basis on a number of projects rolled out by Corporate HQ at a global or regional (EU) level and provides updates on trends in (upcoming or current) local legislation and case law.As a member of the In-house Lawyers Committee of the local pharma industry association, he contributes on a regular basis ideas and perspectives at discussions and document drafting sessions on key pharma industry matters (eg. public tendering, biosimilars and therapeutic equivalence, Government cost containment measures, privacy, and Decree 231 on corporate criminal liability)
