I started in the yachting industry in 1986, when during the school summer holiday, I embarked on a small yacht to learn the bases of this career. The following summer, this time on board a 31,5m canoe stern classic Benetti, where my father was Captain, he transmitted his passion for this job to me. After completing my studies at nautical school, I permanently started working on yachts, initially as skipper for small sized yachts. At the age of 25, I decided to leave my skipper position to join Blue Narwhal as officer deck cadet when she was sent for a long refit in Savannah. It was a very important experience that permitted me to grow professionally in a different cultural environment. At the age of 27, whilst First Officer on Independent of London, I was promoted by the Owner and started my Captain career on super yachts. I was involved for two years on this very busy charter yacht which hosted clients of the highest levels.Successively I began a long relationship with a very keen and passionate Owner. Together we managed first Kiring and then Dakota for over 11 years, working side by side with various shipyards keeping them at the highest level of safety and maintenance. We cruised the most famous yachting destinations in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. As Captain I completed 6 Atlantic crossings and a delivery to Cornwall when Kiring was sold. Cruising the Baltic Sea with Tribù, was a very special experience that left a significant mark in my professional memories. Then, I spent five years on Alalya a private motor yacht based in Tuscany near home.Yet another exciting assignment was on board the iconic Boadicea, I was hired as relief Captain for the winter cruise from south of France to south of Italy. Unfortunately, after returning home, restrictions came into force due to the Pandemic, I was therefore re-employed on Boadicea the beginning of 2021 when restrictions were less.In early spring 2021, I joined My Dragon, a new 80m commercial motor yacht whilst in the shipyard in Ancona for her warranty works. Upon completing the works, we left the yard for the summer cruise. Although with great regret, I decided at the end of season to leave My Dragon.Later, after a couple of temporary assignments I was offered the command of a new unit whilst still in the yard, so I started the adventure on Fantasea. We left few days later for the Atlantic Crossing and her maiden voyage in the Caribbean and once returned in the Mediterranean Sea we started a busy charter season.

MasterFantasea Benetti 50M Charter Jan 2023 - Oct 2023After joining the yacht in Livorno, I had a limited time frame to set up safety procedures, brief the crew and get the sea passages ready and applicable for the Atlantic crossing via Gibraltar to Barbados, having had the pleasure to have been the first captain to have crossed the Atlantic with the first brand new Benetti B.now 50 series. We then started her maiden voyage with guests, visiting large variety of Caribbean destinations and organizing top services and excursions. After a 2 months cruise, we headed back from Sint Maarten.Once returned to the Mediterranean, we completed a very successful charter season ensuring our guests the highest level of safety and service. The participation at the Monaco Yacht Show was the completion of a rewarding and very busy dual season.

Releif CaptainRocket Heesen 50M Private Sep 2022 - Oct 2022As relief captain, I joined Rocket in Mykonos whilst she was cruising with guests on board, thus I quickly familiarized with the vessel and the crew and made sure procedures and paper work for the entire itinerary were set in place properly. As per guests request, together with the HoD, I organized a variety of shore activities coordinating with shore parties and hospitality structures. We cruised across the Aegean and Turkey coasts making return to Athens as scheduled, obtaining the guests full satisfaction. Whilst at the Perama shipyard in Piraeus, we organized the scheduled maintenance works and the necessary documents for Suez Canal passage.

Once all set up and completed, we left the shipyard towards Durres for bunkering operations and then cruised in the south of Italy and Sardinia. MasterTribu Mondomarine 51M Private Jul 2013 - Aug 2014Northern Europe; MediterranenanAfter joining the vessel in St. Petersburgh, I actively participated in the planning of the cruise itinerary as well as taking care of all the safety and security procedures. We visited the main northern cities in the Baltic Sea. During the voyage we sailed rivers such as Neva and Duagava and various narrow channels. When completed the guests program in Stockholm, we departed and sailed through a breathtaking archipelago towards the Kiel Canal. The passages of the North Sea, the German Bight, the English Channel and the Biscay Bay led us to a southern latitude as we were returning to the Mediterranean Sea.Once arrived our guests ended off the season enjoying the Balearic, the French Riviera, and the Greek Aegean Islands. As planned, Tribu’ was sold a few months later, as captain I followed up the entire selling and handover process.

MasterDakota Codecasa 50M Private Sep 2005 - Dec 2011MediterranenanHaving belonged to the same owner of Kiring, we repeated and maintained the highest standards of safety, efficiency and aesthetics and had a very low crew turnover. Dakota cruised the Mediterranean and the Caribbean far and wide and crossed the Atlantic Ocean twice. I led and supervised important maintenance works and structural changes leading to general improvement, one of the most important achievements I obtained was to enable the first Codecasa 50m series to be equipped with larger tenders.Unfortunately, Dakota was sold and the owner did not proceed in the yachting industry. I was therefore temporarily re-hired by the buyer to assist his crew in the preparation of refit.

MasterKiring Brooke Yacht Int'L 34M Charter Feb 2000 - Sep 2005Mediterranean; CaribbeanThanks to a passionate owner, together with my crew we kept Kiring at the highest standard. I personally carried out two major refits as captain and project manager, this gave me the opportunity to customize and tailor the yacht to the owner’s precise requirements. We had repeater charter clients for several seasons in a row as Kiring was unique as well as being led by a highly experienced crew. In five years, we travelled extensively both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, crossing the Atlantic Ocean 4 times. She was sold to upgrade to a bigger yacht and we delivered Kiring in Cornwall.
