Chamira Prasad Jayasinghe is a Founder and CEO at Arimac Lanka. I first met him at the APICTA 2007 held in Singapore, when SLIIT represented Sri Lanka and won the Gold medal in the Tertiary Category, Chamira was representing Sri Lanka from the school category. He later joined SLIIT to follow the BSc (Hons) in Information Technology degree which he completed in 2011 with first class honours. During his studentship he carried out 3 projects under my supervision and mentorship. The project “Kadapatha” that was based on surface computer technology, won the silver medal at NBQSA 2010 while project “Amma” came to Microsoft Imagine Cup finals in 2011. His final year research project “Kundalini” which was based on brain-computer-interface won the silver medal and a special award for the best product developed with open source technologies at NBQSA 2011. The same project represented Sri Lanka at APICTA 2011 held in Thailand and came second out of 21 projects from 16 countries. While being an undergraduate, he established his own company Arimac Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., in 2008, at the age of 20. He also formed a social media network nimnaya.com which won the Best Web Award in Sinhala Category in 2009. He won a special recognition award as the ICT entrepreneur of the year 2012 at NBQSA 2012 for his achievements as an entrepreneur. Chamira is a technically brilliant individual driven by his passion for innovation and success. He is a natural leader and an entrepreneur. It was a privilege to be able to work with him and to guide him through some of his successes during his studentship at SLIIT."
