As an ordained minister with The Salvation Army, my current role is Centre Director/Senior Pastor for the Salvation Army in Johnsonville. I am also the co-author of the book ‘When the Light Goes Out – a kiwi family’s journey of mental illness, recovery, relapse, and the ongoing pursuit of wellness.’ Our aim in writing this book is to keep the issue of poor mental health, one of the primary epidemics of our age, on the discussion table and help people discover tools to help them navigate this successfully. I am passionate about the mission of the Salvation Army, to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination, and I am particularly driven by inequality and injustice - especially in the lives of children and young people. I am also passionate about strategic discipleship within the context of pluralistic society.
