A 16 week intensive boot camp turning people who may have never touched code into potential software developers. During these 16 weeks, we would be put into groups and would go through weekly sprints of learning. Within these week sprints, we would have another sprint every Friday, building an app that would consolidate all our learning for that week. We would repeat this every week.With a strong emphasis on team work we would purposefully practice teamwork skills such as pair programming, active listening and mindset. Working with ever changing groups ensured we learned and adapted to different people's personalities and preferences and the effect it may have had on the team and yourself.We had our 1 and 5 week projects in the middle and at the end of the course respectively - also with people we may not have known before. Being tasked with solving problems people face we experienced the life cycles of apps - ideation, planning, prototyping, coding, refactoring, testing, publishing and more.
