Helped launch one of the Orange County Register's bigger weekly community papers, the Current, into a 5-day-a-week paper. In August of 2014, helped launched the Long Beach Register, a completely new newspaper based out of Long Beach, California and the first reach into L.A. County by Freedom Communications.Designed entire section, including the front, sports and inside pages. Budgeting, desk coordination, photo selection, light headline writing and editing duties.

Mainly designed the Daily Pilot, one of the Times' community newspapers based in Orange County. Also assisted in designing the Huntington Beach Independent and the Coastline Pilot. Headlines, cutlines and final copy editing duties, photo selection. Uploaded stories and photos to the website.

Create and maintain a blog covering the Los Angeles Kings. Covered live games and produce breaking news stories which has steadily grown the traffic to my site daily. In 2008, developed and launched The Hockeywood Insider podcast, a weekly hockey show which has been picked up by local sports talk radio station KLAC. In 2009, approached to be one of the featured contributors for the Los Angeles Kings’ official website. Organized a number of fan watch parties for away games at local eateries and taverns around Long Beach. Utilized social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter and message boards, to actively reach out to readers/listeners/viewers to boost blog readership, podcast downloads and increase attendance to my coordinated events. Appeared on several hockey shows to specifically talk about Kings hockey. Approached by Yahoo Sports to write an article about the history of the franchise, and my articles are often linked by Yahoo’s NHL blog. Utilize SEO in copy as well as some basic web analytics.

Designed A1, local, lifestyle and sports pages. In 1998, became the lead sports designer. Worked with editors to determine play of stories on page, as well as selection of photos and graphic elements. Designed special advertising sections for the Long Beach Grand Prix, Best in the West, high school Dream Teams and Graduation tabs. Currently coordinate writers and photographers to meet extreme deadlines. Copy edit stories, writing headlines and cutlines and proofread pages.

Current responsibilities include the updating of the sports section of PressTelegram.com. Select images and stories to update, as well as try to incorporate other online features. Video skills include editing and producing online videos of breaking news and sports events for the newspaper. Among the sporting events I have covered: the AVP’s Long Beach tournament, high school CIF football and basketball playoffs, NHL draft and training camp coverage. I have also recorded, edited and produced several sports-themed podcastsinvolving the Clippers, mixed martial arts and prep sports. Designed and updated several blogs for the Los Angeles Newspaper Group online network.

Assisted in first redesign of the newspaper's first website, ptconnect.com. Brought more focus to the sports section, including creating special sections for the Long Beach Ice Dogs, high school football and assorted daily content.
