About Domenico Melisi

Sustainable alternative solutions to single-use plastics for packaging applications are my current line of work.Expert in bio-based molded fiber containers: skills in the selection of cellulose and raw materials, in the stock preparation and thermoforming processes of fiber packaging.The packaging of the future must be not only recyclable, but also compostable.My academic knowledge in Materials Science was a great background for starting studies and research on sustainable plastic-free and PFAS-free solutions with the aim of obtaining a barrier to oil, grease (OGR) and gas by using a coating. First results were published in my patent "Preparation procedure of OGR product to be applied in coating on cellulose products" - EP4095191A1 .The planet needs an immediate transition to green packaging as part of a global project of conversion to sustainability: my mission is to make my contribution to it.
