Project Communications Officer at Calian for the DRM-SM project, which is helping modernize DND supply system. Entails coordination of marking and assessing teams across Canada, Communications (written, spoken & including presentations in both French and English). Coordination of efforts between various departments (engineering, data remediation, and marking teams) is a constant responsibility. Programs heavily used within this project include MS Team, Outlook, Excel, Planner, Power BI and power point. Simultaneously serving in the Canadian Forces Regular Forces as Current Operations Officer (Reservist) at 413 Search and Rescue Squadron in Greenwood. Duties include coordination of crews, maintenance personnel, and mission support with Wing Operations and JRCC while also supporting general operations. Recently began working towards obtaining a Project Management Certificate. Historical background: Began CAF career as a Naval Combat Information Operator. Skills gained in that role included multi-tasking in high pressure situations, developing internal & external communication skills in electronic and vocal forms, and working in demanding work environments and settings. This part of my career included three lengthy overseas deployments, and a short-term shore position as building manager of the Canadian Forces Warfare Centre in CFB Halifax.After completing junior and senior leadership courses, earned a University degree at Mount St-Vincent University and completed Officer training in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu Quebec. Thereafter, earned my Wings as an Air Combat Systems Officer in Winnipeg, Manitoba & was posted to 423 Squadron in NS.Spent 6 years working at 423 & 406 Squadrons in Shearwater, Nova Scotia, completing one deployment, and completed the Maritime Helicopter Crew Commander course. Once my Regular Service contract was completed, transfered over to the Reserves as a Current Operations Officer at 413 Squadron, where I am still serving.
